That is the entire calculation, and it is free. There is no reading attached to it and no account required. What this site charges for is interpretation, not the arithmetic that decides whether a degree lands on a chart.

The result is deliberately short. Most charts pick up a handful of contacts across seven years, and some pick up none at all. An eclipse birth chart calculator that returned twenty rows for everybody would be using orbs wide enough to make the exercise meaningless.

Three aspects, and only three. A conjunction means the eclipse falls on the same degree as one of your placements. An opposition means it falls directly across the chart from it. A square means it falls ninety degrees away, which the tradition reads as a contact under tension.

Trines and sextiles to an eclipse are not part of the reading and are not reported here. Including them would roughly double the rows without adding anything anyone would act on, and the value of an eclipse birth chart calculator is largely in what it leaves out.

Without one, all of that is dropped rather than estimated, and this eclipse birth chart calculator says so on the result. The Ascendant advances roughly one degree every four minutes, so a chart built on a noon default has an Ascendant that could be anywhere across about ninety degrees. A house number derived from that is not an approximation, it is a guess with a decimal point on it.

Two further points get dropped with the angles, and this one is easy to miss: the Part of Fortune and the Vertex are both computed from the Ascendant, so they move with it. They are excluded from an untimed result for exactly the same reason the houses are.

The planets, the nodes and Lilith stay in either case. They depend on the moment rather than on the horizon, so a noon default shifts them by degrees instead of invalidating them. The Moon moves furthest, up to about six degrees over a day, which is worth remembering if a lunar contact sits near the edge of its orb.

Start with the orb column rather than the date. The rows are sorted closest-first, so the ones at the top are the contacts where the eclipse degree and your placement very nearly coincide.

Then look at what is being touched. An eclipse on your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is a different order of event from one on your Neptune, simply because those three describe more of the chart. This is a matter of weight, not of good and bad.

The house tells you which area of life the tradition associates with the contact, and it is the part that most repays having an accurate birth time. Without it you still know that an eclipse falls on your Venus; with it you also know where in your chart that Venus lives.

Finally, check whether the contacts cluster. Eclipses arrive on an axis, and that axis stays put for around eighteen months, so a chart with placements in those signs tends to collect several contacts in a row rather than one in isolation.

Eclipses can only happen near the lunar nodes, and the nodes sit opposite each other in the zodiac. They drift backwards about nineteen degrees a year, which means a single pair of opposite signs governs the eclipse degrees for roughly eighteen months at a time.

So if you have placements in the signs the axis is currently crossing, you collect contact after contact for a year and a half, and then the axis moves on and you get nothing for several years. Someone whose placements sit in the next pair along is in the quiet stretch right now and will have their turn later.

This is worth knowing before reading anything into a dense run of results. A cluster is not a signal that something unusual is happening to you; it is a signal that the nodal axis is currently crossing part of your chart, and it will stop.

It does not tell you what will happen. No eclipse birth chart calculator can, and any page that claims otherwise is selling something other than astronomy.
