How Moon Phase Compatibility Actually Works
Every birth moment has a Sun–Moon angle between 0° and 360° — that angle IS the moon phase. New Moon is 0°, Full Moon is 180°, and everything else falls between. Compatibility, in both the viral and the astrological reading, is about how two of these angles relate.
Do your moons complete each other?
When two phases sit exactly opposite in the cycle — 180° apart — their illuminations sum to precisely 100% and light opposite sides of the disc: one waxing (lit from the right), one waning (lit from the left). Stacked together they genuinely form one full moon. That's the soulmate rule, and the four classic pairs (New + Full, First Quarter + Last Quarter, Waxing Crescent + Waning Gibbous, Waxing Gibbous + Waning Crescent) are all 180° cases. Is the Moon Phase Soulmate Test Real?
It's worth separating three things. The astronomy — the Moon's phase at your birth — is objective fact, and this page computes it precisely. The astrology — reading that phase as an instinctive personality rhythm — is a symbolic tradition, coherent and old, but not empirical science. The TikTok test — 'your moons make a full moon, you're soulmates' — is a playful simplification of the astrology's opposition aspect.
